norwegian actress, film and theater director, and author; a primary muse of swedish director ingmar bergman. born in tokyo japan in 1938, at two relocated to toronto canada, and then to trondheim norway. she lives currently in boston massachusetts. her best known film is 'scenes from a marriage' 1973. she is a unicef goodwill ambassador. age 74.
