sigmund freud - large portrait
austrian neurologist who became the founding father of psychoanalysis that is the foundation of modern psychology. my stepfather was one of his followers bringing this healing discipline to america along with dozens of other jewish doctors fleeing germany in the 1930s. freud taught the world the meaning of terms such as ego, super-ego and id; unconscious, repression, transference and death drive were other concepts he introduced as he developed his therapeutic techniques. 1865-1939 london.
