an american clergyman, activist, and leader of the african-american civil right movement using nonviolent civil disobedience. in 1964, at age 35, he was the youngest recipient of the nobel peace prize. 1977, he was posthumously awarded the presidential medal of freedom. his speech 'i have a dream' is the most well known speech of all time speaking to all nations and all people seeking the rights to vote, to education, to work. born in atlanta georgia 1929, he was assassinated in 1968 in memphis tennessee, age 39.
