dalai lama


according to tibetan buddhist doctrine, the dalai lama is the rebirth and manifestation of the bodhisattva of compassion. following the failed 1959 uprising, this 14th dalai lama has sought refuge in india and has lived there since establishing a central tibetan administration in exile from chinese control. it has won financial support from the usa.
